fotoseries A FOREST IS A GARDEN IS A HOME
The fotoseries 'A FOREST IS A GARDEN IS A HOME' explores forms of inhabitation within the polder landscape. The title suggests the outwards extension of the notion of 'home' into a (fictional) forest that comes into being through the frame of the lens.
Living in a studio-workspace immersed in a rich garden I developed a small scale spatial installation turning my studio into an imaginary forest. Lying under the DOMESTIC CANOPY became a daily ritual to extend my fieldwork indoors during the cool autumn months. This 'topographic furniture' was a research tool for reflecting on my growing relationship with this place through the stories of plants. The floor under the canopy was covered with felted sheep's coats made with the wool of three different sheep living in the polder.
